TONIGHT'S MATCHUP:

For the second time this week, the Cyclones and Wings will battle at U.S. Bank Arena.  It will be the fifth of 15 regular season meetings between the two North Division rivals.  Nick Bootland’s club has taken all four previous meetings with the Cyclones this year, all but one of them being decided in either overtime or a shootout (KAL won in regulation play, 4-3, on November 3).

SCOUTING THE WINGS:
Kalamazoo’s 16 points and 7-4-1-1 record gives them a share of the North Division standings with Cincinnati after knocking off the Cyclones 3-2 in overtime on Tuesday morning.  Kory Karlander, who tallied his eighth goal of the season in that game, leads the Wings with 20 points (8 goals, 12 assists).  His point total is good for second best among all ECHL players while his goal totals rank him in third place.

POINTS OF INTEREST:
Despite the OT loss on Tuesday morning against the Wings, the ‘Clones have now earned a point in seven straight games.  They are 5-0-2 dating back to November 3, when they suffered their last regulation loss to Kalamazoo by a 4-3 final.

SCORING FIRST IS CRUCIAL:
The Cyclones are unbeaten in regulation play when they net the game’s first goal...posting a 5-0-3 record this season.  Conversely, when the opposition scores first, they are just 1-5-1.

WORKING PLENTY OF OT:
The Cyclones have played in an ECHL-high 7 overtime games this season.  They’re 3-4 in the extra session, including a 2-1 OT win over Toledo last week, and a shootout victory last Saturday night against Gwinnett.
