Cyclones Partner with Local 12, Lighthouse Youth Services for 2010 Teddy Bear Toss

CINCINNATI, Ohio – The 2010 Kelly Cup Champion Cincinnati Cyclones, proud affiliate of the NHL’s Florida Panthers and Nashville Predators, announced today that they have partnered with Local 12 (WKRC-TV) and Lighthouse Youth Services for their annual Teddy Bear Toss.

This year’s event will be held this Saturday, December 18 when the Cyclones battle the Wheeling Nailers at 7:30pm.  Fans are encouraged to bring a new or gently-loved teddy bear to U.S. Bank Arena to be thrown onto the ice after the Cyclones score their first goal.  All of this year’s collection will benefit Lighthouse Youth Services.

Lighthouse Youth Services is a multiservice agency providing social services to children, youth and families in southwestern Ohio.  Operating since 1969, Lighthouse is nationally recognized as an innovator in services for families in crisis, for homeless youth and young adults, for youth learning to become self-sufficient, and in foster care for abused or neglected children.  The teddy bears will be given to children going into new foster homes, to youth who find themselves neglected or homeless, and to families of children entering the Lighthouse “Help Me Grow” program.

Lighthouse Youth Services is funded in part by the City of Cincinnati, is a United Way Agency Partner, and meets Better Business Wise Giving Alliance Standards.  For more information, visit on-line at www.lys.org.

The defending Kelly Cup Champions return to the ice at U.S. Bank Arena tonight when they’ll face-off against the Reading Royals at 7:30pm.  It’s another Wet Wednesday, meaning fans can purchase $1 PBR and Miller High Life all night long.  Discounted ticket packages and single game tickets for the 2010-2011 season are available now.  For more information, call 513.421.PUCK (7825) or visit CyclonesHockey.com.
