SIMPSONS NIGHT

Tonight's Matchup: Tonight the Cyclones look to get back on the winning track as they play host to the Evansville IceMen in the first of an 11-game season series - the longest of any other in 2014-15. A year ago, the ‘Clones compiled a 6-2-0-2 record against their Hoosier State foes and have gone 9-2-0-1 all-time at U.S. Bank Arena.

Tonight's Promotion: Cyclones Oven Mitt Night - In addition to $1 John Morrell Hot Dogs, the first 2,000 fans will receive a limited edition Cyclones Oven Mitt! Plus, the first Pucks & Pints pregame beer tasting event will take place in the All Access Bar & Grill.

Scouting the IceMen: Dwight Mullins’ club is coming off of a 3-0 win against Greenville and now sits 5th in the North Division standings with a record of 5-5-0-1 - just one point ahead of Cincy. Fourth-year pro Kale Kerbashian paces the IceMen in scoring with 11 points in as-many games this season. Rookie Myles Bell has also been a consistent weapon for his team, posting a team-leading seven goals and a total of nine points thus far. Ottawa Senators prospect Chris Driedger has seen the bulk of the action in net for Evansville; after a 34-save shutout on Wednesday, he’s earned a 2-4-0-1 record this season with a goals-against average of 3.59. Fellow rookie backstop Branden Komm has seen just 20 minutes of work this year and has made four saves.

Last Time Out: Maxime Clermont’s 38 saves proved to be just enough as the Solar Bears narrowly defeated the Cyclones by a 5-3 final score in front of 2,936 at U.S. Bank Arena. Wade Megan had a season-high three-point night, including two lamplighters, for his second-straight multi-point game.

Keeping Shots Down: Cincy has been among the league’s elite in terms of scoring opportunities against. Coming into today, the Cyclones are allowing the fourth-fewest shots per game on average - just 26.11 per game. In fact, the Florida Everblades are the only Eastern Conference team to have a better average in this department (24.67).

Finding Strides: A couple of Cincinnati forwards are starting to rack up points in a big way. Both Michael Neal and Byron Froese posted two-goal games last Saturday against Fort Wayne. Neal has collected points in three of his last four games while Froese has put his name on the scoresheet in six of his last seven.
