Cyclones Weekly Release - Dec 15-21

CYCLONES WEEKLY RELEASE WEEK 10: DECEMBER 15-21, 2014

THIS PAST WEEK:

About Tuesday Night in South Carolina: An offensive first period proved to be just enough for the Stingrays to get past the Cyclones by a 3-1 final score in front of 2,813 at North Charleston Coliseum. Josh Shalla earned an assist in the tilt, giving him points in four of his last five games.

About Thursday Night in Greenville: A late goal from Michael St. Croix broke a 2-2 deadlock and gave the Road Warriors a 3-2 win over the Cyclones in front of 2,892 at Bon Secours Wellness Arena. Josh Shalla and Geoff Irwin both netted goals for the Cyclones in a losing effort.

About Saturday Night in Gwinnett: Thanks in part to a late first period outburst, the Cyclones cruised past the Gladiators by a 4-2 final score in front of 7,535 at Gwinnett Center. David MacDonald enjoyed a multi-point game while Chris Reed notched his first goal of the season in the triumph.

Home For the Holidays: The Cyclones are back home this week with three big games over four days heading toward the holiday season! On Wednesday night, the Clones host the Greenville Road Warriors for the only time this season on a night where we host a Wet Wednesday & SantaCon Night. Fans 21+ can enjoy $1 beers while all fans are encouraged to dress up like Santa, Mrs. Claus, or an elf. Then on Friday, the Cyclones welcome in the Elmira Jackals for the first of back-to-back games at U.S. Bank Arena. The first 2,000 fans through the gates on Friday will receive a limited edition Cyclones Ornament featuring Twister! Finally, on Saturday, the 'Clones will host the city's largest Ugly Sweater Party - featuring specialty jerseys that will be auctioned off after the game.

Moving Up The Charts: Cincy goaltender Rob Madore is continuing his climb up the Cyclones’ all-time games played list. Upon his next game, he’ll play in his 47th game in a Cyclones jersey, passing 2010 Kelly Cup Champion Jeremy Smith and Todd MacDonald for 10th all-time. While in the Queen City, Madore has earned a 22-16-4 record.

Shooting Shutdown: All season long, Cincinnati has been one of the strongest defensive teams in terms of shots on goal. Coming into the week, they are allowing the sixth-fewest average shots on goal per game (27).

Cyclones Family Fun Night at Full Throttle TONIGHT: Make plans to be with us TONIGHT as we host another Cyclones Family Fun Night! This month, we'll be hanging out at Full Throttle Indoor Karting in Springdale from 7-8pm. Fans will receive special rates and have the chance to race against some of their favorite players.
