CYCLONES PARTNER WITH CPD FOR ANNUAL TEDDY BEAR TOSS

Hockey and Police Team Up for Fifth Consecutive Season

CINCINNATI, OH - The Cincinnati Cyclones have announced they are partnering with the Cincinnati Police Department for the Cyclones’ annual Teddy Bear Toss, which will take place during the team’s November 13th contest against the Quad City Mallards.

“We couldn’t be happier to extend our partnership with the Cyclones for a fifth season,” said CPD Sgt. Tim Fritz. “The support of the Cyclones throughout the years has been huge for us, and it is great to see partners like the Cyclones step in and help our community.”

This is the fifth season that the CPD has partnered with the Cyclones for this event, which encourages fans to bring a new or gently loved stuffed animal to the game to throw onto the ice following the Cyclones’ first goal of the evening. The tossed stuffed animals will then be donated to the Police Department who will use them to bring comfort to young victims of crime, accidents, and fires in Cincinnati.

“We are thrilled to continue our long-standing partnership with the Cincinnati Police Department for this fun event,” remarked Cyclones General Manager Kristin Ropp. “Anything the Cyclones and U.S. Bank Arena can do for Cincinnati’s finest and this great community is a pleasure.”

This year’s Teddy Bear Toss will, once again, coincide with Throwback Night, which will feature $10 tickets, $1 John Morrell Hot Dogs, Donatos Pizza, soda and beer.

Last season, more than 4,000 stuffed animals were tossed onto the ice, as 12,825 fans saw the Cyclones earn a 3-2 win over the Wheeling Nailers.

The countdown to the 2015-16 First Face-Off is underway! The Cyclones will return to U.S. Bank Arena on Saturday, October 17 when they host the Toledo Walleye at 7:30pm.
