THIESSEN CALLED UP TO LAKE ERIE, AMBROZ RETURNS

Thiessen Amongst ECHL Goaltending Leaders, while Ambroz Returns for Second Time

Cincinnati, OH- The Lake Erie Monsters, American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate for the Columbus Blue Jackets, have recalled Cyclones goaltender Brad Thiessen, who was sent to Cincinnati before the season.

Thiessen has been amongst the top goaltenders in the ECHL this season, posting a 7-3-1-2 record, while ranking fifth in the League with a 0.932 save percentage, and eighth with a 2.00 goals-against average. He has allowed 27 goals in 14 starts this season, and has allowed more than two goals on just three occasions.

In a separate transaction, the Monsters have sent forward Seth Ambroz to Cincinnati for the second time this season. Ambroz skated in 10 games with the Cyclones late in October and into November, accounting for 25 penalty minutes and an even on-ice rating.

The Cyclones are back on the ice this weekend when they take on the Evansville IceMen in a home-and-home on Friday and Saturday. Friday’s game in Evansville is slated for 8:15pm ET, while Saturday’s tilt in Cincinnati will faceoff at 7:30pm ET.
