Cyclones get Bulk of the Chances, Cannot Douse Fuel

Indianapolis, IN-  The Cincinnati Cyclones (17-17-4-0) fell to the Indy Fuel, 3-0, on Saturday night. Indy goaltender Jake Hildebrand was perfect on the night, stopping all 46 Cincinnati shots to claim the shutout.

After a scoreless opening period that saw an Indy Fuel goal disallowed due to “intent to blow the whistle” by the official, the Indy came out of the locker room firing in the second, receiving goals from forwards Bryn Chyzk, Ryan Keller, and Chris Williams to take a 3-0 lead, 11:35 into the middle frame.

Indy took their 3-0 lead onto the second intermission, and in the third Hildebrand withstood wave after wave of offensive chances from the Cyclones, including several in front of the net in the final seconds of the period with the goalie pulled. Cincinnati was not able to solve the stout Indy defense, and the Fuel held on for the 3-0 win.

Cincinnati outshot the Fuel, 46-39 on the night, with goaltender Michael Houser stopping 36 in the loss. The Cyclones and Fuel wrap up their two-game series on Sunday afternoon, with the face-off slated for 3:05pm ET.
