CYCLONES SIGN COLLEGIATE DEFENSEMAN

Rearguard Heads to Cincinnati Prior to Western Trip

 

Cincinnati, OH- Cincinnati Cyclones Head Coach Matt Macdonald has announced that the team has signed defenseman Martin Lefebvre to a Standard Player Contract (SPC). The 24-year-old recently completed a successful collegiate career at the University of Quebec-Trois-Rivieres where he accounted for 27 goals and 59 assists in 71 career games at the school.

The Terrebonne, QC, native is no stranger to the ECHL, having spent 14 games during the 2013-14 season with the Gwinnett Gladiators where he dished out a pair of assists.

Prior to his time in Gwinnett, Lefebvre spent parts of five seasons in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) with the Quebec Ramparts, from 2008-2013. In 249 career games with the Ramparts, he totaled 34 goals and 140 assists, along with 91 minutes in penalties and a plus-48 on-ice rating. He also served as team captain during his final season in 2012-13.
