CYCLONES FALL IN HOME RETURN

Cincinnati Cannot Overcome Early Beast Attack

Cincinnati, OH- The Cincinnati Cyclones (34-28-4-0) fell to the Brampton Beast, 5-2, on Wednesday night. Forwards Christiaan Minella and Shane Walsh scored the goals for the Cyclones.

The Beast started off strong in this one, netting four first period goals, including a pair from defenseman Jordan Henry, and lone tallies from forwards Luc Blain and David Vallorani to take a 4-0 lead after the first.

Cincinnati started chipping away at their deficit midway through the second, when defenseman Jonathan Diaby deflected a loose puck towards the net and Minella swatted it in to put the Cyclones on the board, 4-1.

The Cyclones cut their deficit in half late in the frame while on the power play when Walsh took the puck in the defensive zone and weaved his way through the neutral zone, split the defense in the offensive zone, and tucked the puck around Brampton goaltender Andrew D’Agostini to pull Cincinnati to within two, 4-2.

That 4-2 score held up throughout the remainder of the second, and in the third Cincinnati continued to push the pace offensively, however an empty netter from forward Brandon MacLean late in the frame sealed the 5-2 win for the Beast.

Cincinnati outshot Brampton, 31-23, with goaltenders Michael Houser and Mark Visentin stopping 18 in the loss. The Cyclones return home on Friday night to take on the Ft. Wayne Komets. Face-off is slated for 7:35pm ET.
