Forward had Major Impact Following SPHL Call-Up

Cincinnati, OH- The Cincinnati Cyclones, proud ECHL affiliate of the American Hockey League’s (AHL) Rochester Americans and the National Hockey League’s (NHL) Buffalo Sabres, have re-signed forward Dylan Nowakowski to a Standard Player Contract (SPC) for the 2017-18 season.

“We are very happy to have Dylan back for the 2017-18 season,” said Cyclones Head Coach Matt Macdonald. “He had a big impact for us last season, and proved that he can play and contribute at this level after joining the Cyclones in January. We look forward to him being a key piece to our puzzle this year.”

A native of Calgary, AB, Nowakowski appeared in 28 games for the Cyclones last season, accounting for five goals and three assists for eight points, along with a plus-8 on-ice rating. He had a season-high three-game goal-scoring streak from February 2-8, accounting for three goals and an assist in that time.

He came to Cincinnati from the Huntsville Havoc of the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) on January 2, after leading the league with 25 points (14g, 11a) in 23 games played at the time of his call-up.

“The Cyclones are a Class A organization, and I am thrilled to be a part of it,” remarked Nowakowski. “The city, staff, and fans are extraordinary, and I can’t wait for the season to start.”

He turned pro late in the 2015-16 season, appearing in eight games with the Havoc and accounting for a pair of goals and four assists in that time. Prior to turning pro, Nowakowski spent four seasons at the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, MN, where he skated in 110 games and totaled 40 goals and 79 assists in that span.
