Cincinnati Bolsters Defensive Corps Ahead of Two-Game Weekend

 

Cincinnati, OH- The Cincinnati Cyclones, proud ECHL affiliate of the American Hockey League’s (AHL) Rochester Americans and the National Hockey League’s (NHL) Buffalo Sabres, have signed defenseman Geoff Fortman to a Standard Player Contract (SPC) for the 2017-18 season.

Hailing from Crystal Lake, IL, Fortman has appeared in a pair of games this season for the Southern Professional Hockey League’s (SPHL) Peoria Rivermen, accounting for a goal and an assist in that time. He made his professional debut last season with the Rapid City Rush, totaling four goals and four assists in nine games played.

Prior to turning pro, Fortman enjoyed a successful collegiate career at Canisius College, appearing in 137 games and tallying three goals and 24 assists in that time. He also served as team captain during his senior season on 2016-17, and assistant captain during his junior campaign in 2015-16.
