CYCLONES VICTORIOUS IN KALAMAZOO

Largest Offensive Output of Season Leads to Second Win

Kalamazoo, MI- The Cincinnati Cyclones (2-2-1-0) collected a 4-3 win over the Kalamazoo Wings on Wednesday evening. Forwards Andrew Radjenovic, Daniel Muzito-Bagenda, Brandon McNally, and Jesse Schultz netted the goals for the Cyclones, who have won two of their last three games.

The Wings found themselves up 2-0 after the first, on a pair of goals from forwards Josh Pitt, and Justin Taylor with less than 10 seconds to play in the frame.

Cincinnati cut the lead in half late in the second when Radjenovic took a pass from defenseman Devante Stephens and snapped a shot up under the crossbar and in, putting the Cyclones on the board, 2-1.

That 2-1 score held up through the remainder of the second, and in the third the Cyclones offense came alive early. Just 2:27 into the period, a shot from McNally was deflected in by Muzito-Bagenda who was stationed in front of the net to tie the game, 2-2.

The Cyclones took their first lead of the night roughly two and a half minutes later when Muzito-Bagenda took a shot on net, and McNally slammed in the rebound, putting the Cyclones in front, 3-2.

The Wings were not deterred and managed to even the game back up, 3-3, when forward Taylor Heinonen found the back of the net near the midway part of the frame.

The stalemate only lasted 3:25, as 12:02 into the period, Cincinnati took the lead for good when a point shot from defenseman Chris Leone ricocheted off Schultz and into the net, putting the Cyclones in front, 4-3.

The Wings turned up the offensive pressure throughout the remainder of the third period, however Cyclones goaltender Anthony Peters stood up to the test stopping 13 third period shots to preserve Cincinnati’s 4-3 win.

The Cyclones outshot the wings, 41-40, with Peters turning aside 37 in the win. Cincinnati wraps up their five-game road trip on Friday night in Wheeling against the Nailers. The face-off is slated for 7:05pm ET.
