Cincinnati Denies Brampton’s Comeback Bid

Cincinnati, OH- The Cincinnati Cyclones (19-11-1-0) closed out 2017 with a 2-1 win over the Brampton Beast. Forwards Justin Danforth and Brandon McNally tallied the goals for Cincinnati.

Cincinnati struck first late in the opening period, as with 1:09 left, Danforth took a pass from forward Rob De Fulviis who forced a turnover at the right wing half wall, and launched a slapshot from the high slot in past Beast netminder Zach Fucale to put the ‘Clones ahead, 1-0, after 20 minutes.

In the second, Cincinnati extend their lead to 2-0, 11:13 in, when a shot from McNally was defected in off a Brampton defender’s skate for his fifth goal of the season.

The Beast stole a little of the momentum back moments later when Nathan Todd scored to cut Cincinnati’s lead to 2-1 after the second.

The third saw both teams exchange numerous offensive scoring chances, including a myriad from the Beast late in the period with the goaltender pulled, however Cyclones goaltender Jason Kasdorf stood tall and stopped 23 of the 24 shots he faced on his way to the 2-1 win. Cincinnati outshot the Beast, 28-24, while neither team was able to convert on the power play.

Cincinnati next hits the road for a matchup in Toledo next Friday, with the face-off slated for 7:15pm ET.
