Cincinnati, OH- The Cincinnati Cyclones (21-12-1-0) fell to the Kansas City Mavericks, 3-2, on Friday night. Forwards Jesse Schultz and Shawn O’Donnell tallied the goals for the Cyclones.

The Mavericks struck early and often in this one, getting goals from forwards Matt Robertson and Eric Freschi, and defenseman Kayle Doetzel to take a 3-0 lead after the first period.

After a scoreless second period that saw Cincinnati receive a number of Grade A scoring chances, the Cyclones got on the board 1:11 into the third when a point shot from defenseman Eric Knodel was tipped in by Schultz in front of the net to cut the Mavericks lead to 3-1.

Cincinnati pulled to within a goal midway through the final frame while on the power play, when forward Alex Kile sent a pass from the right corner to O’Donnell in the high slot, and he riffled a shot in to pull the Cyclones to within one, 3-2.
