Defenseman Shayne Taker Reassigned to Cincinnati

CINCINNATI, Ohio – The Cincinnati Cyclones, proud affiliate of the NHL's Florida Panthers and Nashville Predators, announced today that defenseman Shayne Taker has been reassigned to the club from the San Antonio Rampage of the American Hockey League. In a separate transaction, the Cyclones have released forward Austin Daae.

Taker, 24, was signed to an Amateur Tryout Contract with the Rampage on April 7, 2014. He skated in five games with San Antonio, making his professional debut on April 11 against the Texas Stars. He tallied four goals and 14 assists in 40 games with Notre Dame last season. The 6-4, 208-pound Surrey, BC native completed his four-year collegiate career with eight goals and 39 assists in 152 games.

Prior to Notre Dame, Taker played two seasons of junior hockey for the Cowichan Valley Capitals of the British Columbia Hockey League, where he recorded seven goals and 37 assists in 84 games.

Taker is expected to join the team tomorrow when the Cyclones face the Wheeling Nailers at WesBanco Arena for the preseason finale at 5:05pm.

The Cyclones open the regular season on the road as they visit the Toledo Walleye on Saturday, October 18 at 7:15pm ET.
