Froese Heads North, Serratore Acquired

NORTH CHARLESTON, South Carolina – The Cincinnati Cyclones, proud affiliate of the NHL's Florida Panthers and Nashville Predators, announced today that forward Byron Froese has been loaned to the Toronto Marlies of the AHL. In a separate move, the club has acquired forward Tom Serratore from the Evansville IceMen in exchange for future considerations.

Froese (PHRASE) was atop the Cyclones scoring leaderboard before he earned the promotion, notching 24 points (8g, 16a) in 17 games and was tied for the team lead in game-winning goals (2). As impressively, the Chicago Blackhawks draft pick is riding a 10-game point scoring streak, the second-longest streak of any ECHL player. Froese will be reunited with former Cyclones Head Coach Ben Simon, who serves as the Assistant Coach of the Marlies.

Serratore (SARE-uh-tore-ee), a rookie forward, will join his third team this season after skating with the Toledo Walleye and Evansville IceMen earlier in 2014-15. The University of Minnesota alum earned two assists in a combined 10 games for both of Cincy's North Division rivals. As a college player, Serratore posted 22 points in 140 games and was twice named to WCHA All-Academic Team. His father, Frank, is the long-time Head Coach for Air Force.
