Mikko Vainonen Reassigned to Finnish Team SaiPa

CINCINNATI, Ohio – The Cincinnati Cyclones, proud affiliate of the NHL's Florida Panthers and Nashville Predators, announced today that defenseman Mikko Vainonen (MEE-koh, vigh-NOH-nehn) has been recalled and reassigned to SaiPa of the Finnish Elite League (SM-Liiga).

Vainonen, a 20-year-old, had five assists in 31 games for the Cyclones this season. Nashville’s sixth choice, 118th overall (fourth round), in the 2012 Entry Draft helped Finland claim gold at the 2014 World Junior Championship, their first gold medal at the tournament since 1987.

The rest of the Cyclones will embark on a three-game road trip beginning this Friday night when they visit the Kalamazoo Wings at 7:30pm. Fans can hear the action on the Cyclones Radio Network beginning at 7:10pm and WATCH the game at Game Time Sports Bar and Grill in Cheviot!

The Cyclones will be back on the ice at U.S. Bank Arena on Friday, January 23 when they play host to the Evansville IceMen!
