CINCINNATI, Ohio -- Former ECHL/IHL Cincinnati Cyclones center Craig Charron lost his battle with stomach cancer this morning after being diagnosed in January. He was 42.
Charron led the original ECHL Cyclones in scoring in 1991-92, recording 96 points on 41 goals and 55 assists while appearing in all 64 regular season games. He played in 27 games in 1992-93 with the IHL Cyclones, earning 14 points on six goals and eight assists. Charron tallied the 500th goal in Cyclones history that season.
Charron went on to become an AHL All-Star with the Rochester Americans and is a member of that franchise's Hall of Fame.
Charron is survivd by his wife, Wendy, and four children.
