CYCLONES WELCOME IN ROYALS, NAILERS TO U.S. BANK ARENA THIS WEEK
The Cyclones will play three more home games before a week-long break for Christmas, beginning this Wednesday against the Reading Royals.  On Friday and Saturday night, Cincinnati will welcome in the Wheeling Nailers to U.S. Bank Arena for what will be a battle for first-place in the North Division.

THIS PAST WEEK:

About Friday Night vs. Toledo:
The Walleye were able to add a pair of empty-net goals in the final minutes to prevent a Cyclones comeback, winning by a final score of 5-2 in front of 4,453 at U.S. Bank Arena on Friday night.  Christiaan Minella and Dylan Hunter each had a pair of points in a losing effort for Cincinnati.  It was just the second time this season that the Walleye beat the Cyclones.

About Tuesday Night vs. Bakersfield: Marc Cheverie turned aside 27 shots while Dylan Hunter, Dustin Sproat, Brock Sheahan, and Christiaan Minella each registered two points to help the Cyclones shutout Bakersfield by a 5-0 score in front of 3,048 at U.S. Bank Arena.  It was Cheverie’s ECHL-best third shutout of the season.

STORYLINES:

Hold ‘Em to Three:
The ‘Clones have had great success when holding their opponents to 3 goals or less.  Cincinnati is 9-2-2 this season in this situation.

One Away From a Record: When Scott Reynolds notches his next assist, he will pass former Cyclones great David Desharnais for sole possession of fourth place on the All-Time Assists leaderboard.  They are currently tied with 77 helpers each.

Still “Hunting”: Forward Dylan Hunter has been on fire of late.  He has points in each of his last four games, including back-to-back multi-point games.  In fact, he leads all Cyclones players in that category - registering 2 points or more five times this season.  Cincinnati is a perfect 5-0-0 when Hunter scores a goal.

Another Shutout for “Chevy”: Last Tuesday, Cyclones goalie Marc Cheverie posted his ECHL-leading third shutout of the season.  With that blanking, he has eclipsed both Jeremy Smith and Robert Mayer’s shutout totals from last season...each had 2.  The last time a Cyclones goaltender had more than 3 shutouts in a season - Cedrick Desjardins in 2007-08, who had 5 that year.
