Cyclones Acquire Chase Watson from Trenton Devils

CINCINNATI, Ohio – The 2010 Kelly Cup Champion Cincinnati Cyclones, proud affiliate of the NHL’s Florida Panthers and Nashville Predators, announced today that they have acquired forward Chase Watson from the Trenton Devils in exchange for future considerations.

Watson, a fourth-year pro, joins the Cyclones after spending time in both the ECHL and Central Hockey League (CHL) this season.  In 17 games with the Trenton Devils, the Media, Pennsylvania native had nine assists and four penalty minutes.  He also appeared in four games with the Arizona Sundogs (CHL), where he posted a goal and an assist with two penalty minutes.

This will be the second time in his career that Watson has played for Cyclones Head Coach Jarrod Skalde; last season, he logged ice time in 16 games with the Bloomington PrairieThunder – collecting eight assists during that stretch.

The six-foot, 195-pound forward will join the rest of the Cyclones as they continue their swing through the North Division tomorrow night when they travel to face the Kalamazoo Wings at 7:30pm.  Hear all the action LIVE on MAX-FM starting at 7:15pm.

The defending Kelly Cup Champions will return to U.S. Bank Arena this Saturday, January 22, when they welcome in the Wings for a 7:30pm opening face-off.  It’s another Kids Eat Free Night where fans ages 2-12 will receive a free meal courtesy of John Morrell and Sunkist.  Additionally, the first 2,500 fans through the gates will receive a Cyclones Team Poster.  Discounted ticket packages and single game tickets for the 2010-2011 season are available now.  For more information, call 513.421.PUCK (7825) or visit CyclonesHockey.com.
