Adam Comrie Recalled to Rochester, Benn Olson Returns
Americans summon rookie defenseman while Milwaukee returns Olson to Cyclones blue-line crew
CINCINNATI, Ohio – The 2010 Kelly Cup Champion Cincinnati Cyclones, proud affiliate of the NHL’s Florida Panthers and Nashville Predators, announced today that defenseman Adam Comrie has been recalled to the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League. In a separate transaction, Benn Olson has been returned to Cincinnati from the Milwaukee Admirals.
Comrie, a third-round Florida Panthers draft choice in 2008, has appeared in 13 games with the Cyclones this season – collecting four goals and five assists with 16 penalty-minutes in that span. He has found the net in five of his last seven games and registered a career-high +5 plus/minus rating last night vs. Florida. This season with Rochester, the rookie rear guard has earned three assists and 10 penalty minutes in 17 games.
Olson, a third-year pro, has now seen AHL action in each of the last three seasons. In 46-career games at the Triple A level, the Port McNeil, British Columbia native has posted four assists and 161 penalty minutes. In 38 games with the Cyclones this year, Olson has been involved in an ECHL-high 17 fights while posting a league fourth-most 143 penalty minutes. On January 28, he scored his first professional goal against South Carolina.
The defending Kelly Cup Champions will return to U.S. Bank Arena TONIGHT when they wrap up their series against the Everblades at 7:30pm. The first 2,000 kids ages 2-12 through the gates will receive a Twister Bank courtesy of U.S. Bank. The game will also feature $1 Donatos Pizza Slices for all fans in attendance.
