Cyclones Receive Comrie, Rabbit from San Antonio

CINCINNATI, Ohio – The Cincinnati Cyclones, proud affiliate of the NHL’s Florida Panthers and Nashville Predators, announced today that forward Wacey Rabbit and defenseman Adam Comrie have both been assigned to the club by the San Antonio Rampage of the American Hockey League.

Rabbit, a 2005 fifth-round selection by the Boston Bruins, comes to Cincinnati after spending four of the last five seasons in the AHL. In 2009-10, he was a member of the Cyclones AHL affiliate, the Milwaukee Admirals, and earned 18 points (8 goals, 10 assists) in 76 contests. Last season, the Lethbridge, Alberta native logged 53 games overseas in Zagreb – finishing fifth on his team in scoring with 39 points in 53 games. Collectively as a pro, he has amassed 120 points (46 goals, 74 assists) in 291 career games.

Comrie, a 21-year-old Asburn, Virginia native is entering his second season as a professional. A 2008 third-round draft choice by the Florida Panthers, Comrie skated in 13 games with the Cyclones last year and earned nine points (4 goals, 5 assists) with 16 penalty-minutes. In the 2011 Kelly Cup Playoffs, he posted a pair of points (1 goal, and 1 assist) in a pair of games. Prior to going pro, he spent three years in the OHL, totaling 33 goals and 65 assists in 137 games.

Both players will be on the ice at U.S. Bank Arena this Saturday night when the Cyclones conclude their exhibition schedule against the Wheeling Nailers at 6:30pm. The contest will immediately follow the Power Play 5K Run/Walk presented by Powerade, which is scheduled to begin at 5:00pm.

The rest of the Cyclones are on the road tonight in their preseason opener against the Wheeling Nailers at Cambria County War Memorial in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. The puck drops at 7:05pm.
