THIS PAST WEEK:

About Last Night in Trenton: Cincinnati goaltender Chet Pickard turned aside all 24 shots he faced while Adam Comrie added a goal and an assist as the Cyclones blanked the Titans by a 3-0 final score in front of 2,543 at Sun National Bank Center. Cincinnati’s first victory of the year was also Pickard’s third-career professional shutout. Prior to Sunday night, the last time a Cyclones goalie shutout it’s opponent was (ironically) against Kalamazoo on March 23, 2011 when Brian Foster stopped 47 shots en route to a 1-0 victory.

About Saturday in Reading: The Royals used a two-goal third period as they rallied past the Cyclones for a 3-2, come-from-behind win in front of 3,957 at Sovereign Center on Saturday night. Ben Ryan and Adam Comrie each tallied their first goals of the season in a losing effort.

SHOTS FROM THE POINT:

Elite Company: Wacey Rabbit has tallied a point in each of his first three games as a Cyclone. Since returning to ECHL play in 2006, only five other players have accomplished that feat: Dylan Hunter, Joey Ryan, Kyle Rank, Jean-Michel Dauost, and Torry Gajda. Overall, only 10 Cyclones have ever started their season with at least a point in the first trio of games.

Stingy Defense: The 2011-12 Cyclones have accomplished something that no other Cincinnati team has done since returning to ECHL play in 2006. Through the first three games of the season, the Clones have held their opponents to three goals or less. In fact, their six goals-against, are tied for third-fewest in the ECHL.

Leaderer Returns: Today, the Milwaukee Admirals reassigned defenseman David Leaderer to the Cyclones. He picked up an assist in Cincinnati's first game on October 15 at Kalamazoo. He did not see any action with his five-day call up.
