TONIGHT'S MATCHUP: After a thrilling come-from-behind victory last night against Reading, Cincinnati will finish their weekend with back-to-back road games beginning tonight against the Chicago Express. Chicago has earned the “W” in all three meetings with Cincinnati this season, two of which were decided in a shootout. Despite only earning a total of two points in the season series, the Cyclones have outshot the Express by a combined total of 94-83 in the trio of games.

SCOUTING THE EXPRESS: After a rare Friday night off last night, Chicago is now just five points ahead of Cincinnati in the North Division with three more games-played. Blair Riley remains the Express’ top player offensively, amassing 13 points (5 goals, 8 assists) in as many games. Yannick Tifu, who has three points against Cincinnati this season, is ranked second on Chicago’s roster in overall scoring with a pair of goals and eight assists. Paul Dainton and Rob Nolan have split time in net Steve Martinson’s club this season. Dainton is 3-1-0-1 this season for Chicago with a 3.17 goals-against average and has won two of the three Express victories over Cincinnati. Nolan hasn’t fared quite as well overall between the pipes, going 4-4-0 with a 2.92 goals-against average.

About Last Night vs. Reading: The Cyclones erased a two-goal deficit in the third period to force overtime before Chet Pickard stopped all four Royals shooters in the shootout, as the Cyclones prevailed 3-2 in front of 4,243 at U.S. Bank Arena on Friday night. Garrett Wilson sealed the victory for Cincinnati, which was its third straight, when he buried a goal in round five of the shootout.

Late Game Magic: Garrett Suter’s game-winner came in the final half-minute of regulation last weekend. Cincinnati has been a very strong third period team this season, outscoring their opponents 15-8 in the final frame while outshooting them a total of 120-84. In fact, 12 of those 15 third period goals came in the final 10 minutes. Both of Cincinnati's goals in regulation came with less than 10 minutes to play.

Shooting Gallery Continues: Last night, the Cyclones threw 43 shots on net, which was their second-highest output this season. Cincinnati remains among league-leaders in shots on goal, outshooting its opponents by an average of 34.1-27.9. Collectively, they have outshot their foes 341-279. Their shots-for totals rank third-highest in ECHL while their shots-against rank fourth-fewest. The Cyclones have outshot their opponents in all but two games this season.

Brian O'Hanley Back to the "A": Following last night's Cyclones victory, defenseman Brian O'Hanley was called-up to this third AHL team of the season, as the Worcester Sharks (San Jose's top AHL Affiliate) called in search of a defenseman. This year, "O-H" has collected three assists in as-many games at the Triple-A level.
