TONIGHT'S MATCHUP: After spending the first three weeks of the season away from Cincinnati, tonight the Cyclones finally kick off their 36-game home slate at U.S. Bank Arena with another battle against the Chicago Express. Last night in Chicago, the Cyclones jumped out to a 3-0 lead but couldn’t hold it as the Express rallied to win it 4-3 in a shootout. Tonight is the second of 16 regular season meetings between the two North Division rivals.

TONIGHT'S PROMOTION: The 2011-12 Home Opener features $1 John Morrell Hot Dogs, $1 Donatos Pizza, and $1 soda. In addition, the first 7,500 fans through the gates will receive a FREE 2011-12 Schedule Magnet courtesy of Hometown Sports and Collectibles.

SCOUTING THE EXPRESS: Steve Martinson’s club remains the top defensive team in the ECHL, surrendering just 12 goals in their first six games. Chicago is led offensively by second-year forward Blair Riley, who is tied for 5th in the ECHL with 9 points (3 goals, 6 assists). The Express are solid between the pipes as well - Paul Dainton has backstopped his way to the second best goals-against average in the league (1.44) and has allowed three goals in his first two professional games.

Natural Born Killers: Both the Cyclones and the Express have demonstrated powerful penalty kills through the first few weeks of the season. The Cyclones have allowed jusr four power play goals in 2011-12, which is tied for the fewest in the ECHL. Overall, Cincinnati’s PK unit has killed off 81.4% of its opponent’s chances. Chicago’s PK mark, meanwhile, stands at 84.8%.

Power Surge: The Cyclones have rapidly increased their power play numbers. Through the first five games of this season, Cincinnati’s power play ranks fifth in the ECHL with the a 21.2% conversion rate (7-for-33).

Strong Finishers: Similar to a year ago, this season’s Cyclones club has been a solid third-period team when it comes to the offense. So far in 2011-12, Cincinnati has outscored its opponents 6-5. Last week against Kalamazoo, the Cyclones scored four power play goals in the final frame of regulation.

Everyday I’m Shuffling: The Cyclones roster has gone through a mini-overhaul this week as several players were called up to the AHL. Joe Devin, Keith Seabrook, and Garrett Wilson were all summoned to San Antonio while forward Ben Ryan was recalled to Milwaukee. In addition, Cincinnati was assigned center man Joel Champagne from the Admirals and goaltender Tyler Plante along with forwards A.J. Jenks and Jonathan Hazen from San Antonio.

Movember Pride: Movember kicks off its 5th annual world-wide campaign in the US, challenging men across the country to show their support by growing a Mo (slang for moustache) this November. Cyclones players, coaches, and staff have started a Movember “team” and are encouraging fans to compete with each other & show support for the initiative. Fans will have an opportunity to show off their own staches on Wednesday, November 23 at U.S. Bank Arena. The Cincinnati Cyclones first $1 Beer night of the season will double as a “Movember Party”
