About Sunday Afternoon in Toledo: Kyle Rogers buried the game-winning goal at 4:18 of overtime to give the Walleye a 3-2 victory over the Cyclones in front of 7,004 at Huntington Center. For the seventh-straight game, Cincinnati forward Dan Eves scored a goal for Jarrod Skalde’s team - the longest active streak in the ECHL to date.
About Saturday Night in Toledo: The Cyclones fell behind 4-1 and were unable to mount the comeback as the Walleye held onto a 4-3 win in front of 7,490 at Huntington Center. Dan Eves extended his goal-scoring streak to six games while Mathieu Aubin added a pair of assists in a losing effort.
About Friday Night vs. Trenton: The Cyclones sparked a three-goal comeback in third period and went on to earn a 5-4 shootout win over the Titans in front of 4,496 on Pink in the Rink Night at U.S. Bank Arena. It was the second time in nine days that the Cyclones erased a three-goal deficit or greater to win a contest.
About Wednesday Night vs. Toledo: Harrison Reed’s third period goal proved to be the game-winner as the Walleye earned a 2-1 win over the Cyclones in front of 2,078 at U.S. Bank Arena. Dan Eves posted the lone tally for Cincinnati, extending his goal-scoring streak to four games.
SHOTS FROM THE POINT:
Another Busy Week Ahead: For the second consecutive week, the Cyclones will play four games in five nights beginning tomorrow against Kalamazoo. The Wings and Clones will battle in Michigan on Valentines Night before facing off at 100 Broadway on Friday. Jarrod Skalde’s team will also play host to the Elmira Jackals on Thursday and wrap up the week with their second-to-last visit to Chicago on Saturday. As of today, Cincinnati sits just one point back of the second-place Express in the North Division standings while holding four games in hand.
Just Call Him Automatic: Cyclones forward Dan Eves has been one of Cincinnati's hottest players of late. He has notched a goal in seven consecutive games, which is the longest active goal-scoring streak in the ECHL. He is also the Cyclones leader in shorthanded goals as well, with a total of three.
Bonus Hockey: This year, the Cyclones have 13 games decided in overtime or a shootout - which is tied for fourth-most among any ECHL team. While they have a 6-7 record collectively in the extra session, the Clones are an impressive 4-1 in overtime (which is the second most OT wins of any team in the league). They are 2-6 in shootouts.
The Comeback Kids: This season Cincinnati has rallied to win a game 12 times, which is more than they accomplished in each of the last two seasons. They are on pace for 19 come-from-behind wins this season, which would surpass even the 2008-09 club who came back to win on 15 occasions.
