CINCINNATI , Ohio – The Cincinnati Cyclones, proud affiliate of the NHL’s Florida Panthers and Nashville Predators, announced today they saw an increase in annual attendance for the fifth season in a row. In 2011-12, the Cyclones set a team record with 150,852 fans going through the U.S. Bank Arena turnstiles.
This past year, Cincinnati finished 12th out of 20 ECHL teams in overall attendance and enjoyed three of their top 20 home crowds of all-time. The largest gathering at 100 Broadway in 2011-12 came on December 12, 2011 when they had 7,723 in the house. Since returning to league play in 2006, the Cyclones have welcomed more than 700,000 fans to cheer on the team at U.S. Bank Arena.
“I think the increase in attendance is a direct reflection of all the hard work our front office has put in again this season,” said Cyclones General Manager Kristin Ropp. “As anyone who works in sports knows all too well, there is no off-season and our front office is already planning ahead for the 2012-13 season in addition to a summer filled with Cyclones activities. The increase is just more incentive for us to keep doing what we are doing. I’m VERY proud of our staff and their efforts.”
The Cyclones will return to the ice at U.S. Bank Arena in mid-October as the 2012-13 ECHL season unfolds. On Saturday, October 13, the Cyclones will host the second-annual Power Play 5K Run/Walk.
