TONIGHT'S MATCHUP: After a rare Saturday off day, the Cyclones and Gladiators are back on the ice tonight for Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals. The Cyclones took the series opener in comeback fashion, giving them a 1-0 lead in the best-of-seven series. Including both playoff and regular season action, Cincinnati owns a 7-7 all-time record against Gwinnett.

SCOUTING THE GLADIATORS: John Wroblewski’s club suffered its first loss this postseason on Friday, blowing two different third period leads. Dallas Jackson and Domenic Monardo each scored goals in Game 1 despite the defeat. Forward Ryan Ginand, meanwhile, remains atop the Gladiators point list in these playoffs, notching 3 goals and 4 assists so far - although he was limited to just one shot in the series opener against Cincy. Rookie Evan Bloodoff and former Cyclone Casey Pierro-Zabotel are tied for second on the team with five points apiece; both were also pointless on Friday night. Goaltender Louis Domingue made just 22 saves in Game 1 to run his postseason record to 4-1; it was the second fewest saves he’s made in a game. He still owns the fifth best goals-against average among playoff goaltenders, though, with a 1.81 mark. His save percentage (93.5%) ranks fourth.

Special Teams Are Key: Coming into the series, the Gladiators are second in the ECHL in postseason power play efficiency, having scored 5 out of the 17 times they had the man-advantage. The Cyclones have converted on 5 of the 33 opportunities they’ve had.

“House” Work: Cyclones goaltender Michael Houser has been the go-to guy in net for Cincinnati in this series. Tonight, he will tie Ryan Nie for sixth on the club’s goaltending playoff games-played list. It is Houser’s eighth straight start. He needs just one more win to pull into a third place tie for all-time goalie playoff wins.
