Cyclones Acquire Branden Gracel from Stingrays

CINCINNATI, Ohio – The Cincinnati Cyclones, proud affiliate of the NHL's Florida Panthers and Nashville Predators, announced today that they have acquired forward Branden Gracel from the South Carolina Stingrays in exchange for defenseman Andrew Blazek.

Gracel (GRAY-sull), joins the Cyclones after strongly beginning his rookie campaign this year with the Stingrays. In 17 games for South Carolina, the Calgary, Alberta native notched nine points (4g, 5a) including a lamplighter against Cincinnati this past Tuesday. Prior to going pro, the five-foot-nine, 181-pound forward spent four seasons playing for UMass-Amherst, where he amassed 89 points in 134 games. He was among the team's top three in scoring in both of his final two college campaigns, including a team-leading 34 points in his junior year.

The Cyclones will close out its three-game road trip tomorrow night as they visit the Gwinnett Gladiators at 7:05pm. Coverage of the game on the Cyclones Radio Network beginning at 6:45pm.
