MacKenzie Weegar Reassigned to Cyclones

CINCINNATI, Ohio – The Cincinnati Cyclones, proud affiliate of the NHL's Florida Panthers and Nashville Predators, announced today that defenseman MacKenzie Weegar has been reassigned to the club from the San Antonio Rampage (AHL).

Weegar (WEE-gur), Florida’s seventh round draft pick in 2013, comes to the Queen City after starting his pro career with the San Antonio Rampage. At the AHL level this season, he’s collected five points (1g, 4a) in 19 games. A year ago, the 20-year-old played in 61 regular season games for the Halifax Mooseheads (Quebec Major Junior Hockey League), ranking fourth among QMJHL defensemen with 59 points (12g, 47a). He helped Halifax reach the QMJHL semifinals, falling to the eventual champion Val-d’Or Foreurs, while recording 22 points (5g, 17a) in the postseason. During the 2012-13 season, Weegar won the Memorial Cup with Halifax while posting 44 points (8g, 36a).

The Cyclones hit the road for a Friday night match-up against the Indy Fuel. The puck drop is set for 7:35pm with pregame coverage on the Cyclones Radio Network beginning at 7:15pm. Fans can also WATCH the game live at the Game Time Sports Bar & Grill in Cheviot.
