Tonight's Matchup: The Cyclones continue their push for the playoffs tonight as they play host to the Evansville IceMen at U.S. Bank Arena. Matt Macdonald’s team has dominated their Hoosier State foes during this season series, winning eight of their nine get-togethers.

Scouting the IceMen: Al Sims’ club has lost six straight games and is officially out of postseason contention. Brandon Pimm, who was acquired at the trade deadline from South Carolina, is Evansville’s leading scorer overall. He has earned 40 points (20g, 20a) in 52 games this season. Robin Soudek, meanwhile, has collected 36 tallies (17g, 19a) and ranks second on the club. Between the pipes, it’s been Branden Komm shouldering most of the workload. On the season, he’s earned a 3-7-1-1 mark and a 3.33 goals-against average. Rookie Alex Vazzano has signed an amateur tryout agreement to join the fold, going 0-1 with a 7.00 GAA in his only appearance.

Last Time Out: It came down to the wire, but the Stingrays squeaked past the Cyclones in a shootout by a 4-3 final score in front of 2,535 at U.S. Bank Arena. Nick Huard posted his second straight multi-point game (1g, 1a) while Jack Downing collected a goal for the fourth time in his seven games with Cincinnati.

Impact Player: Cyclones rookie forward Joe Basaraba continues to pace the club with game-winning goals (5). In fact, his numbers in this category rank tied for second among all ECHL first-year players. Cincinnati is 11-2-0-2 when he finds the scoresheet in some capacity.

One is Good, Two is Better: When the Cyclones can set the tempo early, they’ve been extremely tough to beat. They are 21-9-1-1 when striking the game’s first goal and a perfect 19-0 when scoring the first two goals.
