Payerl Latest Addition to New-Look Offense

CINCINNATI, OH- The Cincinnati Cyclones have signed forward Adam Payerl for the 2015-2016 season. Payerl has spent his entire pro career in the Pittsburgh Penguins system, having skated the majority of the past three seasons with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the American Hockey League (AHL).

“Adam is a power forward who brings a lot of character to our team, and we expect him to come in and make a significant impact,” said Cyclones Head Coach Matt MacDonald. “He brings with him a great work ethic, and has experience that will help our team tremendously this season."

A native of Kitchener, ONT, Payerl appeared in 41 games for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton last season, accounting for a pair of goals and seven assists. He also ranked fifth on the team with 76 penalty minutes.

During the 2013-2014 season, the 6’3”, 216-pound centerman got a taste of the NHL, appearing in a pair of games for the Pittsburgh Penguins. He also skated in 43 games for the AHL side that season, totaling five goals and six assists. Overall, Payerl has appeared in 136 professional games with Pittsburgh, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, and the Wheeling Nailers, accounting for 11 goals and 21 assists.

Prior to turning pro in 2013, Payerl enjoyed a successful junior hockey career with the Ontario Hockey League’s (OHL) Barrie Colts and Kitchener Rangers, where he scored 60 goals and added 83 assists in 306 career games.
