Cincinnati Also Makes Two More Roster Moves Ahead of Three-Game Weekend
Cincinnati, OH- The Cincinnati Cyclones (22-19-3-2) have announced the acquisition of forward Colin Mulvey from the South Carolina Stingrays, in exchange for future considerations.
Mulvey returns for his second-career stint with the Cyclones, after appearing in 37 games with the South Carolina Stingrays this season. The Worcester, MA, native ranked sixth on the Stingrays in scoring, accounting for 11 goals and 11 assists, and he was fourth on the team with a plus-10 on-ice rating.
The 5’9”, 160-pounder spent last season with the Erding Gladiators in Germany, where he totaled 52 points (29g, 23a) in 40 games played. Mulvey split the 2013-2014 season between the Wheeling Nailers and the Cyclones, skating in 38 games overall, including seven in Cincinnati where he recorded a pair of goals and three assists. He made is professional debut with the Ft. Worth Brahmas of the Central Hockey League (CHL) at the end of the 2012-2013 season, where he registered a pair of goals in nine playoff games.
In a pair of separate transactions, defenseman Jonathan Diaby has been reassigned to the Cyclones by the Milwaukee Admirals of the American Hockey League (AHL), and defenseman Jeremy Gates has been released from his contract. Diaby has appeared in 17 games with the Cyclones this season, accounting for an assist, along with 11 penalty minutes. Gates was signed by Cincinnati on January 2, and skated in 11 games with the Cyclones, registering nine minutes in penalties.
