SCHMIDT TRADED TO TOLEDO

Move Officially Completes Deal for Goaltender Neil Conway

 

Cincinnati, OH- The Cincinnati Cyclones have announced that defenseman Ben Schmidt has been traded to the Toledo Walleye, officially completing the trade for goaltender Neil Conway that was made last offseason.

Schmidt has accounted for a pair of assists and two penalty minutes in 21 games this season, however has been sidelined with an injury since January 2. A native of Campbell River, BC, Schmidt is in his first season of professional hockey, after completing a successful collegiate career at the University of British Columbia last spring. In 139 career collegiate games, Schmidt accounted for 14 goals and 46 assists.

Conway suited up in six games for the Cyclones this season, posting a 1-4-1-0 record along with a 3.19 goals-against average, and a .901 save percentage. A native of Concord, OH, Conway left the Cyclones in early January, opting to sign with Valpellice in Italy. He has skated in nine games with his Italian club, recording a mark of 3-6-0, and registering a 2.93 GAA, along with a .923 SV%.
