Second Offseason Signing Addresses Cincinnati’s Blueline Needs

Cincinnati, OH- Cincinnati Cyclones Head Coach Matt Macdonald has announced the team has signed defenseman Arvin Atwal to a Standard Player Contract (SPC).

“Arvin is starting his first pro season after a solid junior career,” remarked Macdonald. “He is a big, solid, physical defenseman who has shown the ability to contribute both offensively and defensively. He has the potential of being an important piece of our defensive core.”

A native of Delta, BC, and standing at six-feet tall and weighing in at 200 pounds, Atwal skated last season with the Lethbridge Hurricanes of the Western Hockey League (WHL), where he was second on the team in defenseman scoring, totaling 11 goals and 39 assists in 71 games played. Prior to his time in Lethbridge, the 20-year-old spent parts of four seasons with the WHL’s Vancouver Giants, accounting for 14 goals and 44 assists in 154 games.
