CYCLONES REBOUND FOR HUGE WIN

O’Donnell Leads the Way with a Pair

Manchester, NH- The Cincinnati Cyclones (2-4-0-0) earned a 4-2 win over the Manchester Monarchs on Saturday evening. Forward Shawn O’Donnell potted a pair of goals for Cincinnati, while forward Jordan Sims netted his second in as many games, and forward Andrew Yogan buried his first of the season.

An opportunistic Cyclones squad drew first blood midway through the opening frame when forward Dominic Zombo threw a pass to O’Donnell who skated in on a breakaway and wristed a shot past Monarchs’ goaltender Colin Stevens to give Cincinnati a 1-0 lead.

The Cyclones quickly extended that lead roughly two minutes after while shorthanded, when Sims picked the puck up off of a defensive zone face-off and skated in on Stevens and snapped a shot off the crossbar and in to push Cincinnati to a 2-0 advantage.

Cincinnati was not done, as 13:44 into the first forward Gabryel Boudreau skated the puck over the offensive blue line and dropped a pass to Yogan who sniped a shot into the net to give the Cyclones a 3-0 lead after 20 minutes.

Manchester’s offense came alive in the second as they received goals from forwards Joey Diamond and Corey Ward to cut Cincinnati’s lead to 3-2, midway through the period.

The Cyclones were not deterred, and 13:21 into the frame, forward Peter LeBlanc threw a shot off of the body of Stevens, and O’Donnell was there to bank the rebound off of his back and into the net to push Cincinnati’s lead back to two goals, 4-2.

The Cyclones took their lead into the locker room after 40 minutes, and in the third Cincinnati got some shut-down goaltending from netminder Mark Visentin to preserve the 4-2 win. Visentin was stellar in net on the evening, stopping 26-of-28 Manchester shots to collect his first win of the season.

The Cyclones wrap up their weekend and season series with the Monarchs on Sunday afternoon. The face-off is slated for 3:00pm ET.
