McNALLY RETURNS TO CINCINNATI
Fourth-Year Pro Brings Offense and Toughness to Lineup
Cincinnati, OH- The Cincinnati Cyclones, proud ECHL affiliate of the American Hockey League’s (AHL) Rochester Americans and the National Hockey League’s (NHL) Buffalo Sabres, have re-signed forward Brandon McNally to a Standard Player Contract (SPC) for the 2017-18 season.
“We are very happy to announce another returner in Brandon McNally this season,” said Cyclones Head Coach Matt Macdonald. “Brandon was an impact player immediately for our team last year and we are expecting him to continue to grow and contribute this season. He brings a lot to our lineup with his skill, grit, and high-end character that was shown both on the ice and in the locker room last season."
McNally was acquired via trade in late November from the Utah Grizzlies where he accounted for seven points (3g, 4a) in 15 games. His offensive production continued with the Cyclones, totaling 13goals and 14 assists in 51 games. His best stretch offensively came between December 15-27 where he accounted for six points (3g, 3a) in four games played. McNally also had a six-game point streak (3g, 3a) from February 2-12, and led the Cyclones with 188 minutes in penalties on the season.
“Cincinnati is a great place to play. The community has been so supportive and it’s an honor to play in front of fans who also care about us as people,” remarked McNally. “Every year there is something to prove, and I’m excited to get back to Cincy with old teammates and new to get the season started.”
In addition to the Cyclones, the Saugus, MA, native has seen ECHL time with the Brampton Beast and Utah Grizzlies, totaling 35 points (16g, 19a) in 73 games, along with 216 minutes in penalties. He has also skated in 61 AHL games with the San Diego Gulls, Hamilton Bulldogs, and St. John’s Icecaps, recording 16 points (9g, 7a) and 41 minutes in penalties.
Prior to turning pro in 2015, McNally was a four-year letter-winner at Dartmouth College where he racked up 31 goals and 34 assists in 105 career games.
