SCHULTZ RETURNS TO CINCINNATI

ECHL’s Second Leading Scorer Back for Second Season with Cyclones

Cincinnati, OH- The Cincinnati Cyclones, proud ECHL affiliate of the American Hockey League’s (AHL) Rochester Americans and National Hockey League’s (NHL) Buffalo Sabres, have re-signed veteran forward Jesse Schultz to a Standard Player Contract (SPC) for the 2018-19 season.

“I’m really excited to be back in Cincinnati for another season,” remarked Schultz. “I enjoyed playing in front of such a great fan base and alongside an awesome group of guys. I’m looking to continue to improve and build off what we did last season, and I can’t wait to get started in the fall.”

Schultz led the Cyclones and ranked second in ECHL scoring this past season with 18 goals and a League-leading 57 assists for 72 points in 72 games played. He was also tied for second on the team with a plus-10 on-ice rating. He experienced a 13-game point streak from November 25-December 27, totaling nine goals and 14 assists in that span, and enjoyed an eight-game heater from March 10-23 where he amassed a pair of goals and nine assists in that time. Schultz was also a member of the All-ECHL Second Team.

A native of Strasbourg, SK, Schultz eclipsed 900 career games and 800 career points in 2017-18, and is just eight assists away from 500 for his career. In addition to his ECHL experience, Schultz has close to 400 games of AHL experience, and his time in North America has also been marked by over 160 Central Hockey League (CHL) games, and a pair of NHL games with the Vancouver Canucks in 2006-07. He has also seen time overseas in Denmark, England, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Slovakia, and Sweden.
