Carbonara, Mitton Set to Call Cincinnati Home

Cincinnati, OH- The Cincinnati Cyclones, proud ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League’s (NHL) Buffalo Sabres and the American Hockey League’s (AHL) Rochester Americans, have announced forwards Adrian Carbonara and Nate Mitton have been signed to Standard Player Contracts (SPC) for the 2018-19 season.

“Both Adrian and Nate bring size and a physical element to the table,” commented Cyclones head coach Matt Thomas. “They are relentless and tough to play against, and their style of play has the ability to change a game. I look forward to them contributing to our culture and representing the attitude that we as a team want to play with.”

Hailing from Maple, ON, Carbonara recently completed a solid junior career in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), spending time with the Barrie Colts, London Knights, and Niagara IceDogs. In 196 OHL games, Carbonara totaled 27 goals and 31 assists while racking up 297 minutes in penalties.

“I can’t wait to begin my pro career in Cincinnati,” said Carbonara. “I’ve dreamed of becoming a professional hockey player my whole life, and to have this opportunity with a great organization like the Cyclones is really exciting.”

A native of Kitchener, ON, Mitton split the 2017-18 season between the ECHL’s Utah Grizzlies and the Birmingham Bulls of the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL), appearing in 43 games between the two teams and totaling eight goals and nine assists.

“It is an honor to be joining the Cincinnati Cyclones organization,” remarked Mitton. “I have been working hard throughout the summer and can't wait to get there with the team and perform for the incredible fans of Cincinnati. Coach Matt Thomas is a proven winner and a high-character individual, and I am looking forward to developing as a player and person under his leadership as I continue to write my hockey story.”

Prior to turning pro, the 26-year-old enjoyed four successful seasons at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology where he amassed 29 points (9g, 20a) in 102 career games.
