Ege Selected For ECHL All-Star Classic

The Cincinnati Cyclones, in conjunction with the ECHL, are pleased to announce that defenseman Wyatt Ege has been selected to participate in the 2022 ECHL All-Star Classic in Jacksonville, Florida on Monday, January 17th.

Ege, 26, is in his rookie season as a professional and has played 23 games for the Cyclones, scoring four goals while totaling 13 points. The Elk River, Minnesota native has also earned two Professional Tryout opportunities in the AHL with Providence and Rochester this season, combining for six games. Wyatt tallied his first AHL point on January 2nd when he collected an assist with the Rochester Americans; Cincinnati's AHL affiliate.

Before this season, Ege skated in 22 regular season games for HK Nitra overseas in Slovakia during the 2020-21 campaign. Prior to that, the blue liner spent four years at Ohio State University, where he won a regular season title with the Buckeyes during the 2018-19 season.

"He's worked hard all year," said Cyclones Head Coach Jason Payne. "He's a beautiful skater who sees the ice well and handles the puck well. He quarterbacks our top power play unit. It's definitely an honor for him and one he doesn't take lightly."

"I'm honored and excited for the opportunity to represent the Cyclones in Jacksonville next week," said Ege. "Coach Payne and Coach Bezerra have helped my game and development throughout this season. To be considered an All-Star in this league is something special and it's really gratifying to be recognized by the ECHL. I owe it to the coaching staff and my teammates. Our group has been solid all year no matter who we've had in the lineup and it's the reason I've been able to have success."
