Franco Reassigned to Cyclones

Forward Dominic Franco has been reassigned to the Cyclones from the Rochester Americans; Cincinnati's AHL affiliate. Franco is expected to be available for Cincinnati's Friday night game against Fort Wayne.

Franco, 26, returns to the Cyclones for the first time since late November. After being sent to Cincinnati at the start of that month, the Scituate, Rhode Island native scored five goals while totaling eight points across 11 games

The 6'5" forward has been with Rochester ever since, skating in 32 games with the club, collecting four assists.

"Dominic brings a big presence to our lineup," said Cyclones Head Coach Jason Payne. "He's coming back to us as a confident player who has spent the bulk of this season in the American League (AHL) and he'll bring a great scoring touch as he showcased for our team earlier this season. He strengthens our offense and we're excited to have him back for our playoff push."

Franco is in his second professional season after graduating from Army West Point in 2020. The Division One school created a policy in 2019 that allowed its students to forgo their service time to pursue a profession playing in Sports. Franco was the first player from Army's hockey program to receive this opportunity. His rookie season was spent in Rochester during the 2020-21 campaign, where he posted four goals and nine points in 23 games.
