The Cincinnati Cyclones have named Dana Grey the team's new Coordinator of Public Relations and Broadcasting ahead of the 2023-24 ECHL season. Grey, 26, succeeds Andrew Mossbrooks, who departs the Cyclones after two seasons to accept a multimedia position with Cincinnati's former AHL affiliate, the Rochester Americans.
“I am beyond honored and grateful to be named the next voice of the Cyclones and follow in the steps of some incredible people that have broadcasted hockey in The Queen City," said Grey. The opportunity to join this top tier organization and the responsibility to deliver Cyclones hockey to the great sports fans in Cincinnati is not one that I take lightly. I can’t wait for the puck to drop on this new chapter!”
The Boston, Massachusetts native is a proud graduate of Syracuse University, where he obtained a bachelor's degree in broadcast and digital journalism in 2019. While attending college, Grey spent two seasons in the AHL as a Broadcast Assistant for the Syracuse Crunch. He has since provided play-by-play for various universities in a freelancing capacity on the east coast, while also serving as an NHL Lead Strategist and Broadcaster for Bleacher Report. In the latter role, Grey produced and created content that was featured across Bleacher Report and its various social platforms.
“I am excited to welcome Dana into the Cyclones family," said team Vice President and General Manager, Kristin Ropp. "He is following a lengthy line of broadcasters from our organization who have seen great success, and I can’t imagine the same won’t be realized for him as well. Dana is going to hit the ground sprinting, but I have all the faith he will immediately find his pace and settle in. I can’t wait to see all the ways he makes an impact with us.”
Grey will make his Cyclones broadcast debut Friday night when Cincinnati welcomes Indy to Heritage Bank Center for preseason play.
