CYCLONES RUNAWAY FROM THE KOMETS

Cincinnati, OH - The Cyclones took down the Komets 4-1 and earned their first win of the season against the Central Division foe. Cincy allowed just one goal, the fewest goals against so far this season.

* Following a scoreless 1st period, Jalen Smereck scored for the second straight night on a rebound that popped out to the left circle. Adams-Moison tied up the game for Fort Wayne on a deflection from the slot. At the tail end of the 2nd, Lincoln Griffin jumped on a loose puck after a nice rush from Cole Fraser to give Cincy the lead back. The new Cyclones defensemen also dropped the gloves for the first time in the black and red.

* Up 2-1 entering the final period, Louie Caporusso provided insurance off a slick feed courtesy of Zack Andrusiak from behind the net. Andrusiak himself scored his 6th of the season minutes later with the ‘Clones on a 4-on-3 powerplay. Cincy goaltender Olof Lindbom allowed just one goal and made 26 saves in the victory.

Up next, Cincy hits the road to take on the Greenville Swamp Rabbits. Puck drop this Wednesday December 6th is at 7:05pm ET from South Carolina. The Cyclones return home to the Heritage Bank Center on Saturday December 9th to host the Toledo Walleye.
