CYCLONES CAN’T STOP THE FUEL

INDIANAPOLIS, IN – The Cyclones lost to the Fuel 4-1 on Tuesday morning inside the Indiana Farmer’s Coliseum. Cincinnati is now 3-1-0-0 against Indy this season, losing its first contest of the year vs. the Blackhawks affiliate.

* In front of a crowd of over 7,000 kids, the Fuel got the scoring started just 3:01 into the game. Kyle Maksimovich deflected in a point shot from Ross MacDougall that snuck past Rylan Parenteau. Jon Martin doubled the Fuel lead with a wrist shot from the low slot minutes later. Cincy got on the board with Brandon Puricelli’s third goal in his last four games. Jon Martin added his second tally of the period to make it 3-1 Fuel off a two-on-one combination.

* The Fuel penalty kill and goaltender Mitchell Weeks kept the Cyclones offense off the board in the 2nd period. With five minutes left in the frame, Indy pushed the lead to 4-1 with a Colin Bilek one-timer and his team-leading 8th power play goal.

* Both goaltenders were perfect in the 3rd period. Parenteau finished with 32 saves in the loss, while Weeks stopped 17 shots earning the win.

Up next, Cincinnati heads home to host Wheeling on Friday March 1st at 7:30pm ET. It’s the Cyclones ‘Aluminum Koozie Giveway’ for the first 3,000 fans who enter the Heritage Bank Center.
