CYCLONES FALL AT HOME TO KOMETS

CINCINNATI, OH – The Komets bested the Cyclones 7-1 Saturday night inside the Heritage Bank Center. Cincinnati drops to 2-3-0-0 against the Oilers’ affiliate in the regular season series.

* Cincinnati struck first on the powerplay with a little over six minutes to play in the period. Lincoln Griffin received a Zack Andrusiak feed off the rush and slotted a shot between the legs of Fort Wayne goaltender Tyler Parks

* In the second period, Fort Wayne rattled off five straight goals to blow it open. After Ture Linden tied the game with his 17th of the year, Connor Corcoran blasted in a one-timer on the powerplay for the lead. Nolan Volcan finished off a rebound to make it 3-1 Komets halfway through the period. Ethan De Jong pushed home a one-timer for Fort Wayne’s second man-advantage goal. Noah Ganske rocketed in the Komets’ 5th goal of the game from the high slot.

* Fort Wayne padded the lead in the 3rd period with Jack Dugan finding the scoresheet and then Ture Linden recording his second of the contest. Tyler Parks finished with 22 saves in the victory.

Up next, Cincinnati hits the road for a two-game swing against the Iowa Heartlanders in Coralville, Iowa.
