CYCLONES BLANK THE FUEL

CINCINNATI, OH – The Cyclones topped the Fuel 4-0 Sunday afternoon inside the Heritage Bank Center. Cincinnati improves to 5-1-0-0 against Indy in the regular season series.

* Cincy netminder Pavel Cajan and Indy’s Mitchell Weeks kept the offenses quiet through period one. Neither side could convert on their powerplays and each side finished 0-for-6 on the man-advantage.

* Less than two minutes into the 2nd period, rookie Keanan Stewart sniped in his first professional goal in just his fourth pro game. The Mercyhurst product carried the puck over the blue line and let a wrister fly from the high slot. Later in the frame, Sahil Panwar challenged shorthanded on a one-on-one rush. The center hit a spin move, then somehow beat Weeks on the backhand while being tripped down to the ice.

* Remy Parker expanded the lead to 3-0 on a breakaway from center. The first year ‘Clone went five-hole for his second goal this season. Patrick Polino tacked on an empty-net marker to lock in the victory. Goaltender Pavel Cajan finished with 28 saves, recording his first Cyclones’ win and shutout.

Up next, Cincinnati finishes the homestand this week inside the Heritage Bank Center. The Cyclones host the Toledo Walleye March 20th for a 7:30pm ET puck drop.
