CYCLONES CAN’T KEEP PACE WITH FUEL

CINCINNATI, OH – The Cyclones fell to the Fuel 5-2 inside the Indiana Farmer’s Coliseum on Friday night. Cincinnati completes the season series against Indy with a 5-2-0-0 record.

* Indy’s Brett Bulmer opened the scoring just under nine minutes into the game. The forward found his own rebound and snapped it past Cincinnati goaltender Talyn Boyko. The Cyclones responded later in the 1st period thanks to Jarrett Lee’s first in a Cincy jersey. In his Cincinnati debut, Lee gathered in a loose puck off a Jimmy Soper shot before Mitchell Weeks could track it in net.

* The Fuel took a 2-1 lead halfway through the 2nd period. Matus Spodniak’s deflection was counted after a lengthy review for goaltender interference. Indy defenseman Santino Centorame pushed the advantage to 3-1 on a two-on-zero rush.

* Indy scored just 24 seconds into the final period when Kyle Maksimovich snapped a shot under the glove of Talyn Boyko. On the power play, Noah Kane recorded his first career professional goal rocketing in a wrist shot from the far circle. Maksimovich picked up his second of the night to push the lead to 5-2. Boyko would finish with 30 saves in the loss while Weeks stopped 19 shots in the win.

Up next, Cincinnati heads home to host Kalamazoo on Saturday March 23rd at 7:30pm ET. The Cyclones turn into the Cincinnati Scoops for the night and the first 3,000 fans will receive a ‘Clones/Graeter’s ice cream bowl and spoon.
