CYCLONES DROPPED BY THE KOMETS

CINCINNATI, OH – The Cyclones fell to the Komets 6-3 inside the Heritage Bank Center Friday night. Cincinnati drops to 4-4-0-0 against Fort Wayne in the regular season series.

* The visiting Komets opened the scoring halfway through the 1st period with the Cyclones on the man-advantage. Carl Berglund and Alexis D’Aoust skated in on a two-on-one, which D’Aoust finished off. Cincinnati responded in the late stages of the period with a Mike Ferraro rebound goal.

* In the 2nd, Jake Chiasson banged in a loose puck on a Fort Wayne power play to regain the lead. The Komets made it 3-1 minutes later thanks to Nolan Volcan’s snapshot which got past Pavel Cajan. Cole Fraser got the Cyclones back within one goal when his seeing eye wrister snuck through Ryan Fanti.

* Fort Wayne rattled off three straight goals in under three minutes to balloon the lead to 6-2 in the final period. Ture Linden, Jack Dugan and Carl Berglund all found the back of the net in quick succession. Nick Isaacson countered Fort Wayne’s two shorthanded goals with one of his own late in the 3rd period.

Up next, Cincinnati is back at the Heritage Bank Center to continue the homestand. The Cyclones host the Fort Wayne Komets Saturday March 16th for a 7:30pm ET puck drop. At the gates, the first 2,000 kids will receive a Patrick Polino youth jersey.
