CINCINNATI, OH – The Cyclones couldn’t solve the wings Wednesday night, losing 3-0 inside the Heritage Bank Center. Cincinnati falls to 2-4-2-0 against Kalamazoo in the regular season series.
* After a scoreless 1st period, Kalamazoo broke through while shorthanded. Off a turnover at center, Josh Passolt raced in on a breakaway rush and beat Olof Lindbom through the five-hole. Moments later after K-Zoo drew a powerplay of its own, Ayden MacDonald roofed a wrister over Lindbom’s shoulder to make it 2-0 Wings after 40 minutes.
* In the 3rd period with a little over six minutes to go, Colin Adams snuck in a break alone and was able to find space upstairs to push the Kalamazoo lead to 3-0. Jonathan Lemieux finished with 35 saves in the win, while Olof Lindbom stopped 19 shots in the loss.
Up next, Cincinnati plays its final game of the regular season inside the Heritage Bank Center. The Cyclones and the Wings drop the puck Friday April 5th at 7:30pm ET.
