Cranberry, PA – The Cyclones 2023-24 season came to a close Saturday night at the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex with a 6-0 loss to the Nailers. Cincinnati loses the regular season series to Wheeling 4-6-0-0.
* After a scoreless 1st period, the Nailers exploded for four goals in the middle frame. Just 34 seconds into the period, Matt Koopman tapped in a pass from behind the Cyclones net to open the scoring. Justin Lee blasted in Wheeling’s 2-0 goal while on the man-advantage.
* The Nailers ballooned the lead with two goals in 30 seconds. Jordan Martel scored off a backhand chance, while Jared Westcott deflected in a point shot for the 4-0 lead. Justin Addamo assisted on all four of the Nailers goals in the period.
* Wheeling continued to pour on the pressure in the final period. Jordan Martel and Matt Koopman each collected their second goals of the game to push the score to 6-0.
